سِنجـِد (غبیرا) گیاهی درختی است از خانواده سنجدیان که در آب و هوای معتدل می‌روید. برگ‌های باریک و مخملی شکل و میوه‌هایی قهوه‌ای رنگ و خوراکی دارد که از هستهٔ آن در تهیهٔ برخی داروها استفاده می‌شود. سنجد خواص غذایی و دارویی بسیاری دارد که به برخی ازآن ها اشاره می شود.
